Reel Dudes takes an irreverent look at the bustling show business machine set amidst the glamorous world of small town amateur filmmakers.

Series creator David Maddox used his own experiences as a participant in numerous amateur video races to spoof this popular pastime that attracts wannabe filmmakers and frustrated professionals alike. Created in the vein of popular shows like The Big Bang Theory and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Reel Dudes is a one camera situation comedy about three clueless best friends who are willing to beg, borrow and steal their way into a local film contest in the hope of winning the $5000 grand prize.

Actor Matt Moore stars as the earnest but luckless dreamer Clark, who desperately desires to rise above his workaday life. When he catches the movie-making bug he enlists his two best buds, cynical video store clerk Terrance (Aaron Holloway) and oddball Jackson (Ian Sinclair), to help him pursue his dream of stardom. The fact that they have no clue how to make a movie is nothing that a lack of talent, unbridled ambivalence and complete ignorance can’t overcome.

The entire production was shot in and around the Dallas/Fort Worth area and includes local area talent both in front of and behind the camera. David Maddox directed the series from his original script and produced it through his company IdeaMan Studios.
